Jamie Cullum
~Sinatra in Sneakers~

What game shall we play today?
How about the one where you don't get your way?
And even if ya do. . . That's okay.

Jamie Cullum doesn't understand why he's famous - because radio stations don't play his records.
The. . .singer. . .puts it down to the fact that he is always on the road so people can't avoid him.

He revealed: "It is weird. I think you develop a hardcore touring fan base. Me, personally, I love being out on the road and I'm on tour pretty much non-stop. There's nothing like gaining that fan base by playing live."

Cullum added: "That's especially the case in America where we may not get much radio play but we're playing live to two or three thousand people every night for four months. These venues are selling out! I'm not on the radio, I'm not on Oprah - it's amazing. I just hope that every person who comes to a show goes home and tells a friend about it and gets them to come with them next time... or buy a CD or whatever. It's pure word of mouth... and hard work of course."

Will you let me romanticize. . .

Like a warm drink that seeps into your soul. . .

Take a trip to my yard. . .

My favorite Cullum cover?
Easily Pharrell Williams' "Frontin'".

My favorite Cullum original composition?
Hmmm. . .Boy, that's tough, as there are so many.
Probably "London Skies" right now, but also
"Get Your Way", "Photograph", "All At Sea", "My Yard", etc.!

"When I look back on my ordinary, ordinary life. . .
I see so much magic, though I missed it at the time."
